Social Work Education: the International Journal is affiliated with the European Association of Schools of Social Work (EASSW) and announces a special issue based on the European Conference on Social Work Education (ECSWE) 2025.
The journal advances educational theory and practice by publishing research on social work and social care education, including training and professional development. With a strong tradition of commissioning geographically themed and topic focused special issues, the ECSWE 2025 special issue will center on the conference theme of social connectedness, featuring contributions from across Europe and the broader international social work education community. This collaboration between the journal and EASSW highlights their shared commitment to fostering connections among social work educators and providing a platform for scholarly exchange.
The call for abstracts will open in June 2025 and be officially launched at ECSWE 2025 in Salzburg.
The special edition will be edited by Richard Ingram (University of Dundee), Zuzana Poklembova (University of Prešov) and Urban Nothdurfter (Free University of Bozen/Bolzano).
